Cut'n'Paste Organic Weed Gel

Directions

Application must be very thorough to achieve good results.  It contains a blue dye to help prevent accidental contact. Cut’n’Paste Organic Gel is designed as a stump treatment and must be applied immediately after making a level cut to level basal stump of the tree or shrub weed as near the ground as possible.  It should be applied several times as the gel is absorbed in the stump. Repeat applications may be necessary, retreat any new shoots that may re-sprout.  Applied to the leaves of weed it will burn off the affected areas but will not translocate into the root system as a rule. Can be affective as a control on garden paths and concrete where nuisance weeds need to be removed.  Rinse the brush top after use to remove dirt and excess gel. Refill from bulk supply or recycle the container after triple rinsing.

The Organic Gel is ideal for those that require a product made from natural ingredients.  It is generally less effective than our other herbicide gels. It is not organically certified because acetic acid cannot be registered for organic properties for use as a herbicide.  It’s great for killing emergent weeds and surpassing their regrowth, just dab it on some leaves.

Our organic gel is based on 30% Acetic Acid active ingredient with sodium chloride (common salt).

Cut’n’Paste Organic Gel is not available for use in the home.  It is approved for commercial use only and use and storage of the gel is restricted to workplaces and sale to purchasers who confirm that the substance will only be used in the workplace and in ground based operations.  The work place can be community projects such as environmental weed management run by Forest and Bird or other environmental or landscaping groups or on covenented properties or riparian planting on farms etc.

When used as advised the Gel poses no significant risks to operators or animals. The Gel must not be used on agricultural areas or on crops or animal feedstuffs. The gel must not be applied into, onto or over water.

PPE is goggles and gloves are required when working with Cut’n’Paste Organic Gel as acetic acid can be very corrosive in contact with eyes and damaging to skin. The bottles have tamper evident closures and use our orange brush tops.

Handling, precautions and equipment care

The active ingredient, salt, is ground residual and can travel through soil, particularly when large numbers of weeds are treated in a small area. You are advised to take care when using next to desirable or known sensitive native plants or in areas where their roots might extend.

Do not use if rain is expected within two hours as the gel could leach onto wanted plants and effectiveness may also be reduced. Always use protective gloves when applying.

Cut’n’Paste Organic Gel is acutely toxic to eyes and skin and corrosive, containing 30% acetic acid at about four times the concentration of normal vinegar.  You should avoid breathing in the acrid fumes when working near newly applied gel.  Can be damaging to eyes and skin.

The gel is highly unpalatable and unattractive to animals. Do not apply on or around food or animal feed crops or areas to be grazed by animals.

Storage

In tightly closed original container in a cool dark place, away from children and pets, foodstuffs, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides. Kept as recommended the gel will show no appreciable deterioration for at least two years from the Date of Manufacture (DOM).
